***If you are Active or Former Military and are not currently required by State Law to take a CCW Class to obtain a Concealed Carry Permit, we would still Strongly Urge You to take a CCW Class; this is because your training in the Military and SOP’s are NOT Compatible with Civilian Laws, and it will expose you to Tremendous Civil and Criminal Liability.
***If you live in a Constitutional Carry State and are not required to take a CCW Class in order to carry, we would still Strongly Urge You to take a CCW Class; this is because Common Sense, Tips at a Gun Range or Gun Store, Researching Online or on You Tube, or advice from friends and family in Law Enforcement and the Military are NOT going to be satisfactory substitutes for a Professional CCW Class. Your decision to not take a CCW Class will expose you to Tremendous Civil and Criminal Liability. It is true that people in the United States and the American Colonies a long time ago, were not required to take a Permit Class in order to carry a weapon legally, but they were still exposed to the same types of Civil and Criminal Liabilities that we are. The main difference was that Justice for Illegalities was swift a long time ago-with or without a trial.
***If you already have a license to carry for personal protection, we would strongly urge you to get more training. Your CCW Permit Class was a great place to start in your firearms training education, but is COMPLETELY INADEQUATE by itself. Who needs Ambitac?
Most people do not need Ambitac! This is because there are several firearms training schools around the World that provide excellent curriculum for their students, whether they are Civilian, Law Enforcement, or Military.
What if your enemy is already well trained with excellent curriculum, well equipped, and highly motivated in hunting you; how do you solve that problem and survive that situation?
This is where we will be able to help prepare you for those types of problems. Our curriculum is specifically designed to combat, and defeat current state-of-the-art tactical firearms methods, with a high degree of probability. This proprietary curriculum is offered in the Special Operations Division, CT/Hostage Rescue Division, Executive Protection Division, and the SWAT Division.
Ambitac stands for Ambidextrous Tactical Training. This training does not require left or right handed weapons, nor special gadgets attached to them. This curriculum was developed from the ground up using principles of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physiology, Neurology, Psychology, Anatomy, Biomechanics, Statistics, Probability, Ballistics, among other fields of study, in a fusion with sound Tactics and Strategy that can only be earned from years of very dangerous operational assignments. Using this method of curriculum development is not unique; Great Olympic Coaches do this everyday of the year! Just like these Olympic Coaches, our curriculum is continuously evolving and being refined; this is because, as Instructors we have a Student Mindset. We do not pretend to know everything and are continuously looking for ways to improve our curriculum, including studying our own students knowledge and experience. The only difference between Olympic Coaches and us is we are not preparing for Games.
The Ambitac Firearms Academy Curriculum has produced men and women graduates (of all age levels) with high levels of performance. An example of some of the performance requirements for graduation of an entry level Tactical Handgun Class with a Glock 17 9mm are as follows:
- Draw from a concealed Holster while simultaneously shuffling (Ambitac-style) to cover, and delivering two aimed shots to the cranial region of your enemy from 7 yards away. In less than 1/2 a second!
- Preform Speed Reloads in less than one second.
- Perform a "Smash-Rack-and-Roll" malfunction clearance drill in less than 1/10 of a second.
- Be able to deliver on demand Cranial shots at 50 yards and torso shots at varying distances of 100-200 yards.
These performance requirements are not an obstacle to graduation, but are some of the expected degrees of proficiencies that all men and women, Ambitac Students, of all age levels have already achieved.
Speed and Accuracy are important but only accounts for up to 20% of your chances of surviving an engagement. As demonstrated by two great tacticians and “operators” over 30 years ago “Ken” and “Dave”, up to 80% of your chances of surviving an engagement are determined by Sound Tactics and Strategy; of the 20% and 80% respectively, that you were not able to deliver during the “Execution Phase” of your survival is left up to chance (good or bad luck). Chance is a double-edged sword that can save your “back-side” one second and destroy it the next second; this is something that can never be eliminated but can be reduced. Our curriculum has accomplished this in several ways including:
- Stimulus-response development and enhancement to lessen the series of small mistakes that lead to under-performance and poor execution.
- Building the Execution Mode Mindset, which includes but is not limited to, simplicity, clarity, certainty, and confidence in thought.
- Enhancing awareness of Tactical Opportunities.

*Ambitac Firearms Academy requires that all individuals wishing to take firearms classes be legally allowed to possess firearms.
For individuals wishing to take very advanced firearms classes, 400 Level or above, PPCT, or Advanced Breaching Methods, a Thorough Background Check which includes, but is not limited to, Criminal, Medical, & Psychological Background Checks will be required. An exception to this may be granted with the possession of an Active Concealed Carry Permit.
Proper Attitude is mandatory for being enrolled, and maintaining enrollment, for all classes at Ambitac Firearms Academy; any violations of this will require immediate dismissal with no tuition refund.
We reserve the right to refuse training to anyone; even if they pass the background checks!
